The Modern Cafe has been a landmark in the downtown of Nanaimo since 1946. Originally a Chinese Restaurant, the former owner transformed it into what Nanaimo knows it as of today, a truly Modern Cafe with an international style menu and fantastic brick wall interior. Many residents of Nanaimo know them for the great Modern Cafe sign. When the new Owner Scott Cooper took over in May 2010 he immediately set out to further enhance the style of the Restaurant and improve the menu and the service that customers receive.
