A First Time Session at the Nanaimo Dog Pool is your own Private Session and can be used for a variety of purposes. It can be used for; introduction to swimming, work on water confidence, or for fitness and fun. It can also be, an introduction to dock diving and can accommodate the use of aqua therapy for stiff joints and arthritis as it is a low-impact activity and an excellent form of exercise in a private, controlled environment. You and your dog will have the facility to yourselves as these are all private sessions. Our instructors/coaches are right there to ensure safety and success!

Pooch Pool School is an outdoor facility and is seasonal between the middle of April to the end of October. Your future sessions can be booked as 30-min, 45-min, 60-min Fun, Confidence, or Training sessions. Pool Parties for private groups are also available in 60-minute, 2-hour, and half-day rentals. Future sessions can be booked through our online booking system where you choose the date and time that works for you!

We are Vancouver Island’s only, official-sized, North America Diving Dogs (NADD) sanctioned Dog Dock Diving facility and canine aquatic center with a 50ft x 20ft Pool and a 40ft dock!

Kim has been in the pet industry for over 22 years with the most recent being 12 years owning and operating Pooch Pack Adventures since 2011, an off-leash, dog hiking adventures business. Her passion for developing confidence in dogs, whether it is in water, real world or social skills continues to drive Kim to new opportunities to facilitate this.

Kim has dabbled in dog sports and classes with her previous Golden Retriever Abby and her Australian Shepherd Dio. Kim and Abby fell in love with the dock diving sport and competed in every mobile dock competition that came to Vancouver Island since 2014. Gracie came into the picture in 2018 as a confident little fluffball of gold. Kim and Gracie spent a lot of time swimming at the river and lakes and working on water confidence and retrieving. Gracie was taking to jumping and she was entered into her first dock diving competition at age 15 months in Comox.
