Since 1999, UB Diving, Courtenay's family owned and operated dive shop, has been bringing the Ocean to the residents of the Comox Valley. Sean Smyrichinsky started his career as a commercial diver and decided he wanted to bring his experiences to others. Opening UB Diving allowed him to do just that and after ascertaining his accreditation as a SCUBA instructor, and later his PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer certification, he was able to expand the business to allow it to serve not only the experienced diver, but the inexperienced one as well.
