Come support an amazing cause with local non-profit & registered charity Soap for Hope, and enjoy a live performance by British-Canadian singer-songwriter Brett Smith-Daniels at their location in Victoria!
Due to another major event happening this weekend, the original date has been pushed forward to Sunday, August 27th.
This event is sponsored by Phillips Brewing, who will be selling their fantastic beers on tap for $5 each, with proceeds going directly to the cause.
The Soap for Hope program takes soap and soap-related products (i.e. shampoo, conditioner, etc.), from local businesses & hotels, reprocesses them and creates Hygiene Kits.
These kits are then distributed to local shelters, as well as shipped overseas, with the intention of helping those in need stay healthy and dignified.
Last year alone, Soap for Hope serviced over 30 local shelters, 19 countries, and 30 different hotels. As a local non-profit & registered charity, volunteers are ALWAYS welcomed - tasks include processing soap, organizing fundraisers, pickups, and more.
If you can, please donate, volunteer, and/or drop off your lightly used soaps, shampoos, conditioners, and body wash products for recycle; grab some coupons for yourself and friends today!
Expires: August 27, 2017
Limit 1 per person, +5 as gifts
Limit 1 redemption per person
Option 2 is for ages 14 & under
All who attend are encouraged to bring unused or unwanted hygiene products or plastic bottles that can be refilled and reused.
Soap for Hope is a program of Disaster Aid Canada that began on Vancouver Island two years ago to help shelters and marginalized people in the community. The organization's mission is to provide humanitarian aid, shelter, sustainable water systems and hygiene products to people affected by natural and other disasters; or with compelling local need. The Soap for Hope program focuses on fulfilling the hygiene needs of communities locally and globally.
Soap for hope achieves this goal by collecting gently used or unused soap and hygiene products from the hotel industry and the public that would otherwise be discarded. Our volunteers reprocess these items to redistribute to those in need. Soap and shampoo are also used in international projects and disaster situations in our Disaster Aid Relief Kits. In doing so, the program is not only diverting hundreds of thousands of plastic bottles from landfills but also fulfilling a local and international need for hygiene products, helping people stay healthy and dignified. Last year alone, Soap for Hope serviced over 30 local shelters, 19 countries, and 30 different hotels.
As a local non-profit and registered charity, we provide hygiene kits at no cost to shelters, however this is draining on our resources. Currently, we are in need of volunteers to help with processing soaps, organizing fundraisers and doing pick-ups from hotels, as well as our ever present need for donations.
Please donate, volunteer, and/or drop off you lightly used soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash products for recycle today.
"I think this is absolutely incredible service provided of course by volunteers and a few local businesses and meeting the needs of many local and international communities in need. This definitely a much needed service that indirectly helps reduce the waste going into our land fill and believes in creating a better community for the world and giving hope to those that are facing various types of crisis-es. On Earth day this group is having a fundraiser so that they could continue to provide the awesome service that they have been doing. So if you can help out the support would be great full appreciated. Please visit their site and pass this message on" ~ Rose H. (Facebook review)
