While customers were initially intrigued by the name as to pronunciation and meaning, LA CARCIOFI is an Italian word which means "The Artichokes". The name stem from the fact that the Artichoke as a staple food is an essential ingredient in any classic Italian dish, complex and potent in nutrients. Its delicate, earthy and tender flavour enhances the quality of the food when tossed with pizza, pasta or salad. The most interesting part, Carciofo burst into bloom when spring comes around. In Ladispoli, they celebrate a Classic Spring Fair annually called ARTICHOKE FESTIVAL to showcase artichoke-related dishes and to compete for best artichoke sculpture contest. Spring as a feast of blossom, resonate ideas of rebirth and rejuvenation for a humble beginning. Most notably, when springtime comes around, eating culture in Italy enters a sort of extended party phase that lasts through the fall. Family gatherings are frequent and often centered around food and the extended networks of families. Thus we find the name as a perfect fit for our concept. May not be easy to remember but our sentiments and pursuits will hold significance to our clientele which will pass on by word of mouth.
