At Almost Famous Laser most pigmented spots can be effectively treated with IPL Skin Rejuvenation. However, certain pigmented lesions that are raised or have a frosted, matte texture may be better suited for treatment using our Skin Tag/Mole Removal device.
Following IPL treatment, the targeted pigmented area will gradually darken as the intense pulsed light draws the pigment to the surface of the skin. The area will then naturally dry and slough off. When treated on the face, this process typically occurs within 7–10 days.
For areas such as the décolleté (chest), neck, and hands, cellular turnover is slower, and pigmentation may take up to two weeks to darken, shed, and lighten.
This treatment is non-ablative, meaning the surface of the skin remains intact. Makeup may be worn during the healing period to camouflage the area while the pigmentation resolves.
